I have a Pearl DRX, I don't know if it's the same as a Drum-x. This thing
is designed to use with drum pads with piezo electric elements. The harder
you hit the pad the higher the output voltage. I use the trigger outputs of
my TR808 to trigger the module. You can use the sense pots on the front of
the module to control the trigger level.
It's also possible to use the cv outputs of a midi to cv converter to
trigger the drum module. This way the module is 'touch' sensitive. A
disadvantage is that you need 5 channels of your midi to cv converter.
