Oops, I forgot to mention this when I posted my mod results, I could have
saved you from this hell. What I did to get those bastard trim pots off:
Kneel down on the floor put the PCB between your knees, heat the trimpot
solder contact on one side while wiggleing with pliers on the other. Rotate
from leg to leg, slowly. It takes a while, but it works. No broken trimpots
etc. Then you can just solder your pot connection leads in where the
trimmers used to be, voila!
