it's not necessary....the existing MIDI spec already allows for 14-bit
controllers, although you need 2 CC messages (LSB, MSB)...there are a bunch
of pairs in the middle that are intended as LSB/MSB pairs. no one actually
uses them that way from what I've seen though. i don't know how you are
supposed
to use them...I think MSB writes don't have an effect until an LSB write is
seen (so you could change small amounts by just changing LSB, and larger
values
by MSB write then LSB write....any LSB write updates the "visible" value).
