I believe it is one of the National Semi audio amps.
Suspect there is a magnet and two coils, a pickup and a transmit coil.
I cut a piece of steel coathanger wire 2 inches long, and managed to pick it
up and make it sing with an ebow.
The problem making a zither ebow type system is that the spacing to the
resonant wire is ultra critical, and too hard to control even with a couple,
let alone a whole shitload.
Possibly, by putting diodes in the ebow amp feedback path, you could get
enough automatic gain into it to make it work.. but you would lose the
smooth slow attack that is the whole part of the thing.
