I was just looking at that information myself on their web site. I own two
of their MIDI2CV8s -- one set up for V/Oct and one for V/Hz. It appears
that the CV to MIDI is not the sort of thing you could completely drive a
synth with. It appears to me that you have to choose between one that
accepts CV in and outputs CC messages or another that accepts triggers and
outputs notes assigned to the triggers. Only the velocity is scaled. I
guess that is why it is dubbed a "drum brain." Unless I am missing
something, there is no way to output MIDI note numbers based on CV.
Looks like the version with the MIDI fader firmware might be a cool way to
add realtime controls to synths that accept CC messages.
