Hi Jim, I just got back...I have driven over 2000 miles in the past 4
days.. Christmas is exhausting......
I did it...(no surprise there probably) Depends on what you've got
to work with. If you've got a good way to cut slider slots and are
up for a lot of repetition, go for it! You can get a nice piece of
aluminum broken (sliced) up and do your own silk-screen. There
is a place here that will set you up for about $35 bucks (I think).
You will need two one for the channels and one for the master
section so say $70 for silk-screens.
You will have to pay Greenlee's (sp?) prices for the Lo-Z punch
or maybe not I don't know what you've got...There are bits you
can use if you have a drill press. (BTW my wonderful wife presented
me with a beauty Christmas...drill-press that is...)
I guess what I'm trying to say is making the metal work look good
is the hard part. The electronics are simple. I have some really
nice mixer goodies that I'll be happy to share...:-)
rs.com sells those 9mm snap-in pots (no knob needed) for $0.98
they feel really...really nice.. and do not require much real-estate.
If I were to build another that's what I would use for everything but
the chn&main sliders
