Envelope Generator questions

Hi

In the usual ADSR EG, should the output restart from zero whenever a new
trigger comes even if the release is set to slow and the cap hasn't
discharged yet? (= do analogue synths usually force cap discharge when
they encounter a new note?)

What kind of potentiometers should be used for controlling the
attack/decay/release times? The ones I use (B, log) don't seem too good at
the shorter times (a tiny movement has way too much effect on the time).
