Six-Trak madness

Hullo fellow DIYers,
I recently got hold of an out-of-order Sequential Six-Trak,
and I am eager to get it up and running.
Upon power-up it appears to be in working condition, I can select
programs and parameters etc. but very little sound comes out.
When I press a key the sound I get is (depending on patch) very weak
(even though Voice Volume is on full and the ADSR set proper),
and it seems as if the sound is "delayed", it comes seemingly
after the Release on the VCA is done. And the pitch is random,
not at all musical intervals. Usually low pitches, with a high
pitch every now and then (not depending on which of the six voices
it is using).
So my guess is that something is messed up with the DAC, or the
associated demultiplexers.
But while I'm waiting for the service manual, I thought I'd ask
the experts.... anyone out there?
It says Z-310 REV on the PCB if that's of any importance.
Oh, BTW, anyone have experience with using the Six-Trak together
with the good ole C-64? Seems like fun!
Thanks a lot & merry Christmas,
Hallgeir
