Unfair to LOCAL 12 (villains thieves scoundrels union)
Referring to the "sampled discrete data" that you get from a BBD as "analog" is
grossly unfair to "real" analog circuits. It gives Analog a bad name...
The BBD is a cheap piece wise sampler... its artifacts are way worse sounding
than most A/D_memory_D/A systems (see how I avoided the "D" word)...
That said... There is a real good reason for 10 guitar effects on the floor as
opposed to
"one Lexicon". There is immediate real time control with floor effects... when
you
switch sounds they switch... right now. There are infinite settings on the
"pots" not just
16 or 256 or 4096... I use them all the time and after all these years.... They
are "continuous data systems"...
That said (that said) The BBD does not have "infinite variability" between the
noise floor
and clipping and the S/H averaging of the input... well the word "sucks" comes
to my mind....
On the other other hand... TomG has some flanger circuits and there are some (i
think) at the GEO (guitar effect oriented) page as well as "Lepers effect
schematics" but I don't recall seeing the "electric mistress" there. Just about
every pedal you could want is on one of these sites...
Best of luck and Happy Holiday...
