slightly ot: room impulse response and inverse impulse response

PICO do some probes that connect to your serial port to turn your pc/laptop
into a scope.  I think that they are quite pricey though (although not if
you compare it to the price of a scope).  They do driver downloads which you
should be able to adapt for linux (I think that there is an open source one
to use).  Anyway they are essentially an ADC inside (with a nice pre amp
maybe), so it can't be hard to make (if you use a low power device you could
take the power off the pc), software might be tricky though - and I think
that their one is windows only (well thats a suprise ;) ).
