moog filter bank

Back to music/electronics:

I noticed that the Moog Modular filter bank had at least two versions:

One with higher (50k pots) and one with lower (10k pots) impedance.
Any audible differences? The inductance of the coils is given in
the schematics, but the cap values are not. Each filter section has
two bandpass circuits in series (except low and hi pass). I know the
frequencys written on the panel, but I wonder if both sections are the
same or a bit of center (at least in the spec). No specs for wire gauge
and turns, so the filter Q is also mysterious.

Today we would not like to wind these inductors, especially since they
may be sensitive to hum. They are inductors to gnd, this is easy to do
with simulated inductance circuits. What do you think, will something
of the often cited "magic" of this filter bank get lost, if we do
it with gyrators etc.?

Is there really any magic at all, or is it just stupid people makinmg the
stupid assumption that the filter bank should sound neutral when all pots
on 10, and of course it doesn't because of the distorted phase response?

I guess that it has quite a lot of Q, so much ringing, ie. coloration.

Is it worth to clone one (I have not seen any attempts so far).

Any moog gurus?

m.c.
