AB type j pots

As anyone who's read any of my previous posts has undoubtedly
discovered, I am basically ignorant. I know next to nothing, and I like
to flaunt my idiocy in this public forum.
In keeping with tradition, here's my question:
I just ran across several dozen Allen Bradley Type J pots at a
reasonable price. I know that these are used in different synths,
notably Moog, but I have no idea what values are used, and since I know
just about nothing about pots... :-)
Some of them are USA made, look like they're marked 0.2 meg, and have 3
terminals. Others are listed as 10K, are mexican made, and have 2
terminals. I have no idea if these are audio or linear taper - how can
I tell? Also, I found some "type k" pots, although I don't think those
are AB.
Are these useful for synth or audio applications?
Also, just for the record, what does "Type J" and "Type K" mean?
Thanks,
Tim
