Hi Luis, you may have it right on....

The Emax supply is woefully under powered. Check for
the usual +/-5V and +/-12V. If it's not there you have a
very expensive dead switching supply. That's the bad news.
The good news is you can replace it with just about any
standard $29.95 PC-AT power supply.

Discard the power supply case and fan. Hack off all the power
connectors and fit the new board in where the old one sits.
AFAIK nobody really does component level repair except the
factory. It's a board swap situation if it's not the power supply.

My personal opinion starts here........................

You can take it to someone who says they are factory
authorized for repair but all they are really qualified to do is
guess that the board needs swapping. It's usually something
like a bad DSP. Having replaced the one in my S01 I know
most repair shops are not up to that sort of thing. Your best
bet is to go straight to the factory if you can.

Be sure to push and pull on all the connectors and check
for broken solder joints....good luck..
