Scavenge parts from lighting board?

I have no idea whether or not anyone here can help me with this
question, but I'll ask it anyway... :-)
In my ~ahem~ spare time I do a lot of theater. About 6 months ago I was
at one of the local theaters and one of the women who run it was telling
me about an "old sound board that was purchased for them several years
ago that came out of a radio station somewhere..." She told me that it
was much too large for them to use and that if I could manage to get it
out of there I could have it. When I went and looked at it it turned
out to be a lighting board - needless to say I was more than a little
disappointed. It looks to have three different pieces - a large board
that has the dimmers, another large board that resembles an old
telephone operator's switchboard with a lot of phone jacks, and some
kind of a rack that was covered up with a black cloth.
I know nothing about this stuff, but it looks like it has to be really
old. I'm wondering if it might contain any useful parts - transformers,
switches, faders, things like that - that might be useful in audio
projects. Not necessarily synths, but studio gear in general.
Anyone know about this?
Thanks,
Tim
