I was searching for a TR606 schematic (just to see if any others are
around) with Altavista and this came up in the list:

http://home.eznet.net/~mrad/noisemaker.html

"The design uses a Wilson current mirror to generate shot noise
across a large-value resistor. (This scheme produces a louder noise
than the Johnson noise of a resistor.) The noise is then amplified
and fed to a comparator having a small amount of hysteresis. The
comparator should then chatter, having an output that transitions at
random time intervals, an output sometimes called a telegrapher's
process. This process is then sampled by a logic gate and clocked out
at a baud rate of 19200. A divide-by-10 counter connected to the
preset and reset pins of a D-flip-flop generates the start and stop
bits for RS-232 compatibility. The result should be random bytes read
into a serial port, with a terminal emulator in ascii capture mode,
for example."

Includes theory and formulas pertaining to shot noise. Amazing what
you can just run across on the web.

BTW, it seems he never could quite get it to work. Perhaps someone
could help him out.

Did I mention he's an Amiga fan?
