909 mods

Hey folks,

Purchased a 909 yesterday(cheap). The guy who sold it had a mod done, which 
is in the form of a switch. You flick the power, then flick this switch. My 
guess is that the switch turns the cpu on, after the machine is powered up. 
If this guess is right, I will replace the switch with a timer to delay 
power to the cpu.

The switch has been inserted into a wire running b/w the power board and 
main board. The wire in question is dark blue if this helps

Does anyone know the differences b/w production runs? This probably won't 
help as the serial plate has been removed.
