No there is no glue. The blue plastic cover can be zipped off, then you
see a bone shaped magnitic core with the windings on it, at both tails
there is a plastic end "stopper", for fixing the wires etc.  I think
one cannot liberate the wire package, because of the bone shape, any
grinding or cutting would be dangerous.

Anyway, an inductor in the lower leg will lead to overshot in the step 
response, for say 1ms, will this be audible?
