This is already happening. The bean counters are buying into that everything
is done with "software". Well, try building an amp or power supply in
"software".
Typically, our analog engrs get about 10k less a year than the embedded
software engrs, and the analog engrs always have to do a lot more labor
intensive testing before letting the product go out.
Most of the embedded software engrs are pretty good, but I wonder why they
sometimes hire CS ppl for the job.. Most CS types just out of school are
downright dangerous around electronics.. Dont let em near voltage or a scope
for the first few months! heh
