I like that!!!

This is a point I have been making with the head of my department (I'm a
final year electronics student).  They seem to want to stop doing analogue
work, and the only reason I can see is that our analog lecturer is a
consultant charging part time fees (oh and the another one is retiring in
June).  Now I know my previous mails have been saying that digital
processing will model everything in the future - but how can you model
something that you don't know about!!

I can just see it now - a few thousand lines of code and a 100ukp chip to
replace something that can be done with an opamp and a cap.

Isn't life great!!

PS - This is good for me - in twenty years I can earn a fortune by replacing
these expensive circuits with cheap analog ones that were thought of twenty
years ago!!
