PS - I'm making a rather nice set of multi-turn knobs to control some pots,
they have 3 different position resolutions (ie turn fast and whole 128 steps
can be scrolled in one turn, turn slower for better resolution) - doesn't
that sound like a good idea for a replacement of the conventional pot! (idea
came from the new waldorf synth - which is not worth the money in my view)
