Well, Ive got a few words for you..
12 bit PROPRIETARY..

We will see if you will feel the same way when they stop making the
minidiscs you need for it and tell you "Sorry sir, you MUST upgrade". This
is their plan, same way as it is Microsoft/Intel.. But, OTOH, the MS/Intel
thing has worked out for the better because companies like AMD are forcing
Intel to release their newest chips earlier to be able to compete speedwise.

OTOH, my company, Thomson/ RCA has a GREAT recorder/player for MPEG (if you
want to go that route) that is all software updating. (end of shameless
plug)
It got EXCELLENT reviews! check it out when you get the chance.
