Surfing around last week I found a stomp-box site that
suggested using a small radio shack x-former in place
of the 660mH inductor.  I've tried to find the site again
without success...anyway the guy there deserves credit 
for finding something that works. 

It's very close but it doesn't have the range of the original. 
There's an mp3 on the page I pinched from the radio.
