Matrix 6 mods? Replacement keyboard?

There is a way to process an external signal, but there is no dedicated
external input on the synth's chips. It is kinda dicey to attempt.
Buy a Matrix6r, the rackmount version. Then use your favorite
keyboard via MIDI.

Also, I would like to replace the cheesy, clacky keyboard with a nice semi-weighted one. Any recommendations? I have heard that the Oberheim pitch/mod levers send out a stream of unneccesary MIDI data, clogging the path. Is this true of the Matrix 6, and what can be done about it?
