Expo convertors with tubes ?

In my tube percussion synth I will be using tubes whenever 
possible in the signal path, because I like the way that 
they sound. If I can easily use tubes in other parts of the 
circuit such as control, power supply, etc., then I will 
for the fun of it. But if it is difficult or impractical to 
use tubes, then I am very happy to use solid state. I would 
rather spend my time designing and building some novel new 
tube effect circuit than trying to invent, for example, a 
tube ADSR when a solid state unit will do the job just as 
well.
