Yeah Thanks Toby. Absolutely fascinating. And mentioning Shaker channels.
this would seem a whole lot more sophisticated than the old "Sensoround"
systems they use to have in theatres for a short time in the 70s. These
used shaker drivers of some sort but they were simply turned on and off.
You couldn't actually feed waveforms into them. This idea would seem useful
for an IMAX cinema perhaps. (Although IMAX is unfortunately owned by SONY
as it happens.)
