We use to have a little shaker @ tracker. But it was only for shaking HF
rigs. they use to go into trucks, and if you've seen where trucks tend to
go in Outback Australia it's like putting your rig through a war zone.
Usually the mounting brackets would break before our radios but at least we
know they could survive being bashed round in a truck cabin for 3 months
before anyone bothered bolting them back in. But our shaker was all
mechanical. A couple of washing machine sized motors with cams and stuff on
them. Kind of like one of those bucking bronco machine things. Once the
apprentice forgot to lock his radio down and it kicked the thing clear
across the room. It actually survived that but had a few scratches on it
where it slid down the wall.

For the record, most of our rigs only failed due to dust. Despite the fact
these boxes were pretty well sealed. Once we got one back and when we
pulled the lid we thought they'd sent us back a case full of sand. There
was in fact a radio in there somewhere but we had to shovel the dirt out
first. To say we built radios for harsh conditions is something of an
understatement.

I was thinking. Someone wanna get one of those things on the back of a
truck. Park it in front of an ATF building with some world war II noises on
it and shout. "That's for waco ya' bastards!"

So I don't suppose you're likely to find one of these in a Hi-fi shop?

"Can I help you sir?"

"Yes I'd like one of your finest 250,000 watt stereos please."

"Certainly sir. You do realize we only do cash and carry?"

Be absolutely water cooled box.
