EH 16 second dly

Anyone ever tried to clone one of these?
If you have heard it you know how insane 
this thing is (it IS d***tal thou). 
I found fuzzy looking schems online and it uses 12 DRAMs, 
and some strange chip RF5609A which is, as it's noted, 
obsolete. I guess it could be replaced with some modern one
(which one?) I don't know if it uses more problematic parts
 (it has one 0804 for switching pedal but that's no problem). 

I guess someone knows more about this?
