Eight bit computer hardware/software

Hi,
Yes the apple IIgs is the one with that advanced sound chip, there was also 
some good software written for it, in fact I still have a working IIgs up in 
the attic, all in all not a bad little computer but it is a 16 bit machine 
not an 8 bit so I don't know if it qualifies to be in this discussion. I also 
seem to remember the some software being written that let the Kaypro II 
control a Synergy synthesizer.
