Hi All !

Afaik the resin used to make "Pertinax", which is a brand-name, is
phenolic(sp?) resin . Gives off phenol fumes, pretty unhealthy .

I bought a Roland M480, new, years ago . Could not stand to use it
because of the stench, filling the whole house . The thing spent 2
or 3 summers in the garden shed, plugged in for weeks at a time, then
weeks not, till it cooked(dried) out the excess ;-)

This resin was used extensively in the fabrication of particle board,
but this has been banned now for indoor use in Belgium (Europe ?),
the phenol-bearing panels now being coloured green to show the
difference . Might be different where you hail from .

Btw, was'nt this the resin used to build the (in)famous Trabant ?

Take care .

Keep 'em oscillating :)
