Patch leads

Hi Tony /all,

I use the individual cables from a 24 way multicore (about 10ukp/m
). The more expensive multicores are usually made up of
individually sheathed 2-core screened cables with individual
numbers printed on the sheaths....I find these numbered cables very
usefull for complex synth patches too....these patch leads are very
flexible and are only 5mm diameter (so they dont obscure too much
of your synth's front panel )..These patch cords have been so
reliable that i also use em for my studios patchbays, but do use a
good quality multicore to start with.
In the UK try canford audio (www.canford.co.uk ) as they will often
sell you their offcuts real cheap.

Many of the connections in a synth patch dont really need to be
screened, especially some of the control signals. For these you
could try some unscreened patch leads, maybe use the cores from
1.5mm 3-core mains cable or something similar?
