I'm not JH, but I'm producing kits in my spare time (not synth related). It's a lot of work. Luckily we are three people who divide the work between us. But it is still more work than we would like. Making the designs is only a small fraction of the work. Making assembly instructions, sales, supplier relations etc takes a whole lot of time. You should never make a business out of your hobby, if you want to keep it as a hobby. As soon it is a business and you have obligations to customers, suppliers etc, the pleasure will usually be gone. Just a warning.
