Hellfire and Flamewar

There are several members of the list who have commercial interests in fields related to "synth-diy". I am very happy that most of these individuals do not use this forum as a soapbox for their own benefit.

I receive product information from some of these individuals. The announcements are polite, ask me if I want to be removed from their mailing list, etc. Even If I'm not interested personally I have no problem with these postings.

Naturally, I don't always agree with the designs or design philosophies of everyone who posts, whether commercial or personal. AND I reserve the right to say so in an open forum. I am entitled to my opinion and (as an American) I am guaranteed the right to free speech under the First Amendment to the US Constitution. (maybe I don't have the same rights everywhere...)

I have also found that most list members are willing to have a little dialog concerning thier designs. They have the right to their opinion "my design is the best..." etc.

Some list members seem to be unable to make a distinction between "someone doesn't like my design" and "someone doesn't like ME.." I suggest that a post discussing the technical merits of your design is in order and that threats and intimidation are out of order.

You might be your own worst enemy. If you think I'm talking about YOU, then read "A Slander" by Anton Checkov and see if any bells ring. 

This forum is for sharing Ideas and Opinions. Not for the commercial benefit of any list member. If you can't stand the heat (hellfire? flamewar?) then get out of the kitchen...
