Grant,
I recall cicrca 1980 there was a series of articles in
a Polish bulletin about such filter structures which were
reffered to as "multibranch filters" (AFAIR).
These consisted mostly of several identical paralel branches
of passive LP networks which were cyclically multiplexed using
CMOS switches, and indeed resulted in a very narrowband
comb frequency response. These structures were theoretically
analysed as a degenerate case of modulated filter banks
found in multirate signal processing applications.
If you are interested I may try to dig them out and
to translate the essentials with my clumsy English.
Anyway, I think this technique may give birth to a whole
new family of interesting synthesizer filters.
regards,
MB
