They might do this to get the different sections of the instrument out of
phase to each other, and still deriving their basic pitch from the same
divider circuitry.
And look at this unique delay vibrato circuit ! Not the usual LFO + VCA,
but a sine wave oscillator which is switched from full damping to
slightly under-damping, so the oscillation will build up in a rather
"natural" way. No idea if you really hear the difference, but I liked the
circuit so much that I cloned it for the JH-720's delay vibrato.
