555 as pulse-wifth controller..ideas please...

Hi folks..

A while ago I know I saw a circuit for using a 555 mono-stable as a
pulse-width determiner independant of the pulsewidth of the signal applied
to it...I could do with it to put adjustable pulse-width timing on my
sequencer...I seem to have the board area to do it with and would like three
of the four gate channels to be adjustable...I've got a spare <555> on the
556 I've used for the master clock, and another 556 would give me another
pair...it doesn't need to be CV controlled (nice if it could be though), I
can live with just a pot....anyone got any ideas?
