O.K., I may be a masochist, but I etch all of my boards
using Rat Shack direct etch transfers. These are a
Letra-set type of rub-down transfer, and they come with
patterns for runs between dip pads. After numerous uses, I
have never had a problem with them at all. I use a resist
pen only for fill of large areas or touch up. As I rarely
make more than one or two of any board, this works well for
me, although I certainly would not consider it for large
numbers of boards. A little time consuming, but the results
look very professional.
