Try this:
- Insert a 10K resistor beetween (+) and drain of the FET;
- Connect the base of the tansistor to drain and forget the trimpot and
the 100K/10K resistors here;
- Bypass the 100K resistor at the colector (jumper);
- Put a 1K resistor (or pot) beetween the emmiter and (-);
- The output now will be the emmiter (or the cursor of the pot).
- Try a 10uF electrolitic in parallel with the source resistor (try 4k7)
to increase gain.
