If the freq of the commutator is EXACTLY 100Hz, then a 100Hz 
input (?200Hz) is completely removed.
And, anything that is an exact multiple of this.
At other freqs, some of the orig sig gets thru.

That's my 'handwaving' explanation, anyway!
