Is it possible this is a beat frequency occurring with other VCOs through
the power supply lines? I have seen this kind of effect with multiple VCOs
running from the same power supply line without decoupling. A small
value resistor (1-10 ohms) in series with the power supply inputs
to the board should "decouple" the circuits if that is the case.
