well, I've made plenty a ring modulator based on the AD633....
sucked a lot of lemons before I got this great chip!

the big problem with (any) ring mod.. any noise on the signal input,
will modulate with the carrier, and it sounds like feedthrough.
(eg, 5 mv of hum on an audio line, once it modulates with eg a steady 1KHz 
carrier you might have, gives 995 and 1005 Hz, which to my ear sounds
like 1000 bleedthrough! Wasted PLENTY of time chasing that down!!

But, get the layout right, and the AD633 is a very nice chip.

Do you need multiturn trimpots? Why yes you do.
