Sorry, but I disagree.

There is someone hunting for rare chips and thereby thinning the market
of replacement parts. It's his good right to do so, but it's our good right
not to love him for that.

I don't know why I'm involved in all that. Lucky as I am, I have made
provisions to get "survival kits" for my synths soon enough. So why
should I complain ? What you call "Bible thumping" has it's right when
it comes to protect the interests of others, who are not so lucky.
I never pointed on anybody who bought chips for investment - they will
eventually return to the market. But many of us diy builders have stopped
to use really rare chips because we became aware that even single items
that went into new projects were lost for the ever thinning supply.
And now we learn of someone who does the same thing commercially.

You can tell me he has the right to do so, but you can't tell me I have no
right to be angry. And surely not "OVER NOTHING".
