ok so that does show they listen to their email doesn't it? they
certainly didn't have to do a damn thing and here then changed the page
based on one days worth of email even though they had some positive
feedback as well. tell me the last time Roland, Korg, or Yamaha did
that.

Well that shouldn't be hard since they don't sell it anymore.

That's a pretty ridiculous overexaggeration. First of all they do have
another design; the A110, and it's a fine VCO with multiple waveforms,
PWM, CV control, etc. They also have one of the most innovative VCO
designs in the A112 VCO/sampler they released. Doepfer offer 4-5
different filters and 3 LFOs. They simply had one VCO in their
collection that used an old chip and wanted to keep offering that if
possible. I'd say their expertise in analogue synth circuits is pretty
damn good and proven over and over and over again by the wide variety
and low prices of the A100 line. Just because they tried to find a
source for one piece that some people don't agree with hardly makes
their excellent and affordable line of instruments invalid.

And to reiterate they answered all email and even changed their web site
page in response to user feedback. Hardly the facist synth-raping evil
company some people have been shouting about. I'm really surprised so
many people made sucha big deal about this. as i stated yesterday their
plan didn't even sound too promising to star with (Who's going to sell a
pro one for $60??) In fact no one did and that's why they stopped
looking for them there.

Look through the archives for the names of long time educated list
members who have parted out synths including selling chips. This is not
a new idea and since they never got one synth from the whole deal it's
not really valid to guess what they woudl have done with the remaining
parts. A lot of talk about something that never happened and didn't look
like it could. That's fine because that what discussion lists are about
but let's try and keep grounded in a little reality too along the way.
Doepfer is and will continue to be a wonderful choice of products for
certain synthesists. Might not be for everyone, but there are a couple
thousand players out there who are very grateful they are around.
