Doepfer have revised the page at http://www.doepfer.de/cem3340.htm and
removed the offer of buying up old synths.

They still seem to think that it is perfectly acceptable to build and sell
new VCO modules using obsolete parts that by their own admission they have
difficulty sourcing.

If you don't want a VCO module that may be un-serviceable if it breaks, and
you don't want to help wipe out existing stocks of 3340s that may used to
repair classic synths, I suggest you steer well clear of the Doepfer VCO
module.

IMO the fact that they are sticking so doggedly to this particular VCO
design suggests that their engineering expertise in analogue synth circuits
is not what it might be, so maybe it's better to avoid the A100 system
altogether.

I notice the following in the description of the RS Integrator VCO module at
http://www.analogue.free-online.co.uk/modules.htm :

RS90 £69 12HP High end VCO, all waveforms available on sockets, 2 waveshape
pots with VC, sync, hi-stability (uses no Curtis chips!)

There you have it - it can be done !
