Dear all,

I have had a reply from deiter and he had the same problem I did, he simply
cant afford to lash out half a million dollars. he seels roughly 1000 VCO's
a year, can you honestly see him still selling these in 25 years time?

He says he contacted doug curtis about doing a re-run, but he wouldn't.

Deiter has also said that the softsynths are slowly killing his market.

I replied re-iterating the point that a simple stable VCO would not be
difficult to design/build, but had the advantage that he could probably
still get the parts to make more in 10 years time.

I dont think he has any motives like killing old synths so they cant
revial his system. The older classic synths OB8/Jupiter/etc are totally
different to a modular, in both design and use.

Whilst Im not defending the decision , I do not wish him to be slated, he
is trying to keep his buisness alive, as best he knows how. Without the
likes of doepfer/novation/access/etc (which are all small companies and
would probably do the same) the likes of Roland and Yamaha would control the
world of synths and music, do you want this?

If I had a stable enough VCO design (im working on one at the moment) I
would give him the design for free (no Money), but insist that it remain
registered as mine. I do NOT wish to see this company go bust.

Please if you feel compelled to email him, dont be nasty.

  Paul
