CEM3340, Doepfer - the final consequence

In case that nobody is going to make a new run of 3340's,
most likely the following will happen:
Street prices for 3340's will go up into the region of cheap
modular modules. I see ads coming like this:
"Buying your used Doepfer VCO module, broken or not (as long
as the chip inside is working)"
This is no kind of stupid revenge - it's just quite obvious that the
Doepfer modules will be the first ones for their price to be topped
by the value of a chip growing more obsolete.
Thinking of it, salvaging an Obie by cannibalizing an A100 module
is not such a bad idea at all. Just wait until the price tags will
match.
So in the end, I have no doubt that these CEMs will "recycle"
back to vintage synthesizers. Too sad that a lot of the other
parts (keyboards, pots, knobs etc.) will have vanished into
dustbins forever until then.
