bad precision pot?

Hello, right this morning I jumped out of the shower and connected my
multimeter to a "horizontal" 10 turn trimmer, 50k. I used "crocodile"
clamps.  Result: the uncertainty due to the clamps is enormous, it makes a
reliable measurement impossible.  After moving the clamps in order to get
some friction I could get the same resistance value after a while. Then
I droped the trim 2m above solig ground (bathroom).  It seems to have
no effect.

Next I'll solder test leads with banana plugs to several trimmers.
