It depends, to some extent, on the current drive of the CV source (and the 
desired gain of the following amp).  What is the initial source of the CV's?  
TTL or CMOS output?  Individual transistors?  4051 output channels?

For what it's worth, most commercial analog sequencers that I've seen use 50K 
linear pots.
