Every semiconductor junction end even a semiconductor piece will react to
light with sufficient energy (color) by hole/electron generation. Light
modulates current. Therefore most semiconductors are in light sealed
packages. If I have forgotten to turn out the microscope light I'll
sratch my head and say: Umm, these diodes down there come quite damn
leaky this time ;->>
Now, this causes mostly DC problems, things we name offset or drift.
These phenomena have to do with diffusion currents and are rather slow.
Could be that this will lowpass filter the noise so much that you won't
directly notice any additional noise. Of course, the "light" DC problems
could wreck precision circuits.
