JMJ Small Stone Modifications?

Hi all:

Does anyone know what sort of modifications Jean-Michel Jarre has on his Small
Stone phaser? I found a website
(http://www.anita-webdesign.demon.nl/synth/elekharm/smallsto.htm) that has a
picture of his phaser, and it has 2 more knobs than it should. Are these basic
mods (like feedback and depth) or something that I wouldn't think of?

Also, why does everyone claim that the JMJ phasing sound is made using a PS-3100
resonator bank? It sure sounds like a phaser to me. The PS-3100 makes a
beautiful sound, to be sure, but it seems like there are cheaper ways of getting
that phasing sound if that is all that you want. JMJ's sound doesn't seem as
complex as the PS-3100 demos I have heard.
