Waitaminute - what I had in mind would be a "negative" FWR sine, with
slow (absolute) sweep at low range, and fast sweep at higher range,
thus resembling a sine wave (+ offset) put thru an expo converter.

The "bouncing ball" would be just the opposite, "positive" FWR sine,
wouldn't it ? 

(I admit I never tried this - but I will !)
